Leslie Hagen – President

Leslie is a graduate of Auburn University, holding a B.S. in Criminology. She has a  diverse background that includes roles as a flight attendant, customer service manager, stay-at-home parent, parent volunteer, booster club co-president, as well as a small business owner. Her experience has helped her develop valuable skills in leadership, problem-solving, and advocacy. Leslie grew up in Prior Lake, and she and her husband Mark, have raised their 2 daughters here. Their youngest daughter, who has autism, inspired Leslie to create The Sunshine Social Club (SSC), a space where people with disabilities can connect, build relationships, and thrive in a supportive community. In her free time, Leslie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and traveling

 

Carrie Boegeman – Secretary

Carrie serves as the Head of Global Project Management Operations at Cushman & Wakefield, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in the commercial real estate sector. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with prominent clients including American Express, Bank of America, Edward Jones, Ford, and UnitedHealth Group. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, such as project management, strategic planning, data management, quality control, client care, and communications. Carrie and her husband call Prior Lake home. They have 2 sons and became grandparents in 2022. Now that they’re empty nesters, Carrie has embraced her love for travel and is always excited to plan trips to fantastic destination concerts, especially to see her favorite country music artists.

 

Staci Herold – Treasurer

Staci is a highly experienced professional with over 30 years of experience in both healthcare and technology. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Information Technology at EmpowerHealth. During her career, she has held key positions at companies such as UnitedHealthcare, Optum, and UnitedHealth Group. Staci has extensive knowledge in areas such as business and product development, managing budgets and finances, staffing, program and project management, as well as strategic planning. Staci is a native of Prior Lake, where she resides with her husband. They are proud parents of a daughter who works as an ICU nurse at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). Staci enjoys watching sitcoms and attending outdoor concerts. She has also developed a passion for Premier League soccer and loves cheering for Manchester United!

 

Sara Ford

Sara has always had a passion for helping young people. She began her career as a teacher in the Head Start program in Moorhead, MN. In her role as a Head Start teacher, she not only guided students in the classroom but also spent time in each student’s home after school to strengthen relationships with their parents. After ten years of teaching in Head Start, Sara moved to Prior Lake, where she took a break from working with students to focus on her own family. Once her daughters started school, Sara returned to the classroom as a paraprofessional at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake. She continues to nurture her passion for helping young people and is now in her thirteenth year of supporting middle school students. Sara lives with her husband, James, in Prior Lake. They have two adult daughters: Sidney, who works as a registered nurse at United Hospital in St. Paul, and Ashlee, a freshman at North Dakota State University. Sara brings her positive energy and enthusiasm to everything she does for the Sunshine Social Club.

Darcy Brugger

Darcy Brugger is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. With a strong foundation in business and technology, Darcy began her career in the Graphic Arts Industry. After a successful tenure in the print sector, Darcy transitioned into the Healthcare Industry, where she has built a diverse career. In her current role, she works closely with customers in a variety of sectors, including Industrial, Medical, Academic, and Pharmaceutical Research, offering solutions and support tailored to each field’s unique needs. Darcy and her husband, Tim, live in Farmington and together have raised two successful and caring daughters. She has always been deeply passionate about empowering others, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed and live a fulfilling, joyful life. Her mission is to support young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, helping them achieve their fullest potential.

Sarah Less

Sarah is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where she earned a degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, she began her career in the printing industry, working closely with sales teams and clients to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. After several years in the industry, Sarah made the decision to step away from her career to become a stay-at-home parent. Together with her husband and two daughters, Sarah has enjoyed an adventurous family life, living in Minnesota, Texas, and California. Driven by a passion for helping others, she recognizes the critical need for greater support for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Sarah is excited to contribute to enhancing the community she grew up in and is eager to help make a meaningful impact in this important area.
